Following the joy that was the Lego Batman Movie, I had to get this Joker figure. Heroes and villains in the movie were great, well developed, funny as hell, and from all of them the one that I really liked was The Joker, not only as a character but also the design of his look, he ranks really high in my list of all time favourite Jokers.
This mini-figure is not an exclusive one but rather the same one from The Joker Balloon Escape (70900) set. He is wearing his classic purple suit with the nice addition of a long coattail piece that fits between the legs and the torso.
The Joker's head is double-sided and has expressions of a happy and evil smile. I decided to pose mine with the second one which is the one that I found the stronger and I think is more faithful to the essence of the Joker.
This build has 3 parts that complete the mini-figure. The first is a stand for the Joker, this is pretty much needed due to the presence of the second part: a six-stud Gatling gun, the gun is a regular piece with a large Gatling gun barrel attached in the front that without the stand will make very difficult for the Joker to stand.
The final part is the Batman training dummy. It has a Batman’s cowl that is loosely placed on top of the build with the hands being just some neck brackets that hold a bat and a couple of Batarangs, all this sits on a base designed to let it spin.
I really like this set, and price wise I think is a good deal, even when apparently there is a cheaper polybag containing the Joker. I can only imagine that this set could be fun to play with for small kids, but my intention is to display it and it just looks great, an excellent excuse to put the 'only Batman' collection rule to the side... next to my other Lego Joker mini-figures.
