This one has to be one of the more special figures I have. They don't make wood figures anymore or do they? The good people from DC Collectibles did it!!! And it was a massive surprise for my birthday.
The turntable:
This amazing figure is made of eco-friendly wood, apparently. Batman looks very chunky and muscular with a massive upper body and tiny legs. Because of the proportions, the arms look really long and massive, and it also looks like Batman has no neck whatsoever. Overall the geometry of the figure is very simple and defined, the trapezoidal body seems to be circumscribed in the circle defined by the arms.

They went for the black and grey suit, but the bat-symbol doesn't seem to reference any comic or movie version of our favourite character in particular (the closest beeing the 2003 Batman Gotham Knights one).
The paint in the symbol and the belt is good and it's really good in the head. I like that you can actually see the wood texture throw the paint (mainly in the grey parts). The only thing I would change is the unpainted surfaces in the heads, including the peg, since it kind of messes with the cape. The cape is also painted over the figure and goes across the upper piece and the legs piece. Finally, the boots are also painted, reinforcing the small proportions of the feet.
One of the most interesting aspects of this figure is the level of articulation it has. The head is detachable, but when in place it rotates. The arms rotate from the shoulder, and the hands do as well from the end of the gauntlets, additionally the body rotates from the hip. For a wood figure, I think this is amazing, also keep in mind that all these articulations mean that this pieces can be detached and exchanged for ones from other figures in this line.
It would be amazing if the figure had accessories, like a Batarang, but instead, it has three interchangeable heads; one frowning, one angry and one injured.
The boxed figure:
A great and fun figure overall (only missing spikes in gauntlets!!!), an excellent alternative to traditional action figures, very nice to display and a new personal favourite, wish there were more figures like this out there.
