Finally!!! One of my most wanted figures joins the Shelf: The New Batman Adventures figure. I got this for a reasonable good price after a 'hard' bid on eBay.
This amazing figure follows on the steps of what is undoubtedly one of the most iconic Batman’s incarnations, Bruce Timm and Paul Dini’s Batman: The Animated Series with its combination of art-deco style, the character design, the homage to old school Animation, the darkness and great writing produced an absolute classic.
From the days of Hasbro and Mattel figures with their endless repaints and gadgets, which I still want to collect forward to 2014 with this line targeted to a more ‘mature’ collector by DC Collectibles. The line is a mix of figures from the original Batman TAS and the TNBA featuring 5-6 inches figures tall with lots of articulation points, good level of detail and nice accessories.

The figure sculpt is an incredible 3D representation of the cartoon version, the wide chest, thin limbs, square chins, simple, but very expressive faces, all is there. TNBA look is even more stylised than Batman TAS, cleaner and simple lines. Both remain the same, but at the same time they are completely different, you can't love one without loving the other.
The articulations are good, but they could improve a lot, they go from being too difficult to pose to being too weak to hold a position (mainly the ankles), sometimes it seems like you are going to break them - with lots of stories around the internet actually happening - in order to pose them.
The interchangeable hands work better, but you still want to be careful when putting them in place and taking them off. The figure also includes a couple of accessories a Batarang and a bat-grapple gun (a second one makes a single piece with one of the detachable hands).
Another nice addition to this figure is the inclusion of 2 capes, one in a neutral pose and the other one with a slight ‘movement’ to it, once more, removing the head to change the cape (it comes with the second one in place) is very hard and must be done with care to avoid damaging the headpiece.

Like other figures in this series, it includes a stand featuring some specific character art.
At the end of the pros and cons, I think this is a fantastic figure overall. Really happy to have in my collection a high-end figure that captures the look and spirit of the cartoon. I'm very pleased that DCC made the decision of release this series, which is an ongoing one with more figures added as late as January 2017.
Next I want the Batman TAS figure, but as usual, I’ll be opportunistic and see what can I find for the right price before committing to anything.
